Overcomer Care Centre

Overcomer Care Center is a registered, non-governmental, self-supporting society that depends fully on donations. Their aim is to provide a family setting for children from broken homes, and a safe space for them to be loved, nurtured and educated.

As at January 2022, the home houses nine (9) children who attend Kebangsaan or Chinese vernacular schools, and receive tuition and/or remedial classes in order to catch up with their peers. The children are also taught useful skills in IT and multimedia, arts, music,  and sports,  and vocational training such as plumbing, carpentering, and automotive, amongst others. As part of our visit, Yayasan KBB threw a pizza party for the children and presented a cheque of RM10,000 to one of  Overcomer Care Center's founders, Ps Lawrense, to support the home's expenses.

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mikhalai (Mikhalai School of Destiny)

The Mikhalai School of Destiny is a school catered for underprivileged children and those from broken, displaced or dysfunctional homes. Their primary purpose is to alleviate poverty through education and facilitate the assimilation of these children back into society by showering them with love and protection.

Commencing operations in 2016, the school has since experienced immense growth and currently oversees the education of forty-three (43) boys and girls aged between seven (7) and eighteen (18). They provide meals, accommodation, study materials, books and stationery.

Yayasan KBB had the privilege of receiving a warm welcome from the children through a surprise festive Chinese New Year performance during an initial visit in January 2022. In January 2023, Yayasan KBB had the honour of presenting additional funding amounting to RM10,000, in hopes of furthering the genuine efforts of Mikhalai School of Destiny.

Pusat Kebajikan SVM Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur

Pusat Kebajikan SVM Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur is a home centre for the physically and mentally handicapped, ill, abandoned and old folks. The home presently houses fourteen (14) residents and relies mainly on contributions from individuals, small business and aid organisations for food and relief.

With the humble support of Yayasan KBB's cash donation and groceries comprising milk powder,  tea, coffee and other supplies, we hope that Pusat Kebajikan SVM Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur will continue to bring nourishment to those who need it most.

Rumah Kanak-Kanak Bondulu (Bondulu Children's Home)

The Bondulu Children's Home is located in Toboh, Tambunan, Sabah. Having commenced operations at its current premises since 1990, they are a NGO shelter for children in need, including but not limited to those who come from broken families, have been abandoned or abused, are immensely poor, children of single parent families or orphans.

Supported by a loyal team of four (4) on-site caregivers, the shelter is home to approximately seventy (70) children aged between five (5) to seventeen (17) years old. On weekdays, the children are ushered to nearby local schools to encourage continued education.

We were made to understand that Bondulu Children's Home does not receive government grants as at the time of Yayasan KBB's monetary donation in December 2022, and that they rely on community and private funding to alleviate their plight.

SEMOA Orang Asli Education Centre

SEMOA, a registered non-profit organisation, is dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of Orang Asli children aged between five (5) to seventeen (17) years old. These children originate from remote Orang Asli villages nestled in mountainous regions with limited access to essential amenities such as running water, medical care, and educational opportunities. Overcoming significant challenges like distance, transportation, and resource scarcity, SEMOA strives to break the cycle of poverty among these children.

Located in Tuas, Raub, SEMOA operates a hostel that serves as a pivotal hub for educational access. Here, children receive not only accommodation but also vital support including counseling, nutritious meals, and a safe, hygienic environment conducive to learning. For those unable to enroll in formal schooling, SEMOA offers practical skills training in areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and fish farming. This approach empowers them with foundational skills necessary to secure a sustainable livelihood.

Currently housing approximately eighty (80) children, SEMOA's efforts were recently highlighted during a visit by Yayasan KBB in December 2023, coinciding with a generous RM 10,000 donation towards their cause.

Other Charitable Contributions

In addition to its support for the organisations set out above, Yayasan KBB regularly extends its philanthropic efforts to a range of other charitable causes. These include contributions to welfare homes through Da-Ai Welfare, as well as various community-based initiatives that provide care and support for the elderly, underprivileged families, and other vulnerable groups. Through these ongoing efforts, Yayasan KBB remains committed to uplifting communities and promoting social well-being across diverse segments of society.
